Dr. Mike Armour, SLDI’s founder and managing principal, leads most training sessions. Since founding the firm in 2001, Dr. Mike has personally coached over 700 executives, managers, and entrepreneurs, and trained thousands more across four continents.

Dr. Mike brings a wealth of leadership experience to every program he conducts. His career includes serving as a Navy captain, college president, university dean, CEO of an international humanitarian organization, and CIO of a nationwide intelligence program.

In addition, Dr. Mike taught leadership courses in a leading MBA program for several years and has authored or co-authored eleven books, seven of which focus on leadership. Beyond North America, he has extensive experience providing leadership and management training in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asiatic Russia.
