Epicodus's mission is to equip individuals with the skills necessary to secure fulfilling careers as web developers. To us, “great jobs” means positions in thriving industries that offer competitive pay, meaningful work, and opportunities for growth. Beyond teaching the technical skills required, we empower our students to become confident self-learners who can adapt to ever-evolving job markets, and effective communicators who thrive in team environments. Our focus is on serving individuals who, due to background or circumstance, may not have easy access to the education needed to achieve these career goals.

Our program spans 25 weeks, consisting of four 5-week courses and a 5-week internship. Students can choose from one of five specialized tracks:

• Ruby/Rails
• C#/.NET
• PHP/Drupal
• Java/Android
• CSS/Design

All tracks start with an introductory course in programming and include a module on JavaScript.

What sets Epicodus apart is not just what we teach, but how we teach. From day one, our students dive straight into coding through pair programming, where two individuals share one computer, alternating between typing and navigating. This collaborative approach enables students to catch each other's mistakes, share knowledge, and generate ideas together that they might not have conceived on their own. Pair programming, widely used by companies like Facebook and Square, accelerates learning and mirrors the real-world teamwork of the tech industry.

We also emphasize a flipped classroom model that encourages self-guided learning. Our instructors, highly skilled in the languages and frameworks they teach, act as mentors and guides rather than traditional lecturers. By the time students reach their internships, they have completed 20 weeks of rigorous curriculum, amassed roughly 800 hours of hands-on coding experience, and honed their ability to solve problems collaboratively.

Both during and after the program, students receive ongoing support from our Student Services and Employment Services teams. We maintain weekly contact with graduates, assisting them in finding the right career opportunities.
