Disaster Recovery Institute International

Founded in 1988, Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI) has certified over 15,000 professionals across more than 100 countries. Today, 94% of Fortune 100 companies employ DRI-certified professionals. In fact, DRI certifies more individuals than all other business continuity organizations combined. In addition to certification, DRI provides organizational accreditation and assesses resilience levels.

Services for Continuity Professionals

DRI supports professionals through various services, including conferences, outreach, and volunteer opportunities. Its annual conference connects resilience professionals with leading experts and industry peers. The Collegiate Conferences series, held in collaboration with partner universities, introduces students and faculty to the growing field of business continuity. To raise awareness, DRI established the 501(c)(3) non-profit Disaster Recovery International Foundation. This foundation promotes disaster risk reduction through partnerships and education and supports recovery efforts through fundraising and volunteerism. Additionally, the Foundation's Veterans Outreach Program supports veterans.

A Recognized Expert Resource

DRI advises organizations and government institutions globally, aiding in the development of professional standards to enhance resilience. It is a member of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction's (UNISDR) Private Sector Working Group ARISE Initiative and participated in the business and industry delegation for the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction negotiations. DRI is also an ANSI-accredited Standards Development Organization, a CQI and IRCA Approved Training Partner, and an International Organization Liaison Observer to ISO/TC 292, contributing to standardization in security to improve societal safety and resilience.
